Franck Muller Grand Central Tourbillon 36mm Cintrée Curvex CX
Franck Muller has long been regarded as the master of the tourbillon. From the most compact watches to the fastest and even the largest, watchmakers have set records and new standards for tourbillons.
The Grand Central Tourbillon is the latest iteration of this classic fixture.
It places the tourbillon at the heart of the newly updated tonneau-shaped Cintrée Curvex CX case. To create these new references, Franck Muller's technical and artistic teams worked together to design a display that would perfectly integrate the movement.
a little different In order to achieve a refined and clear display, the Grand Central Tourbillon movement is installed in the middle of the curved case.
A single bridge supports and lifts the tourbillon above the dial, and the openworked discs showing the time are stacked around the tourbillon's rotating cage. This "invisible" time display was not only ingenious, but also required a complete redesign of the gear train.
After Watchland's engineers perfected the design of this unique tourbillon movement, we challenged ourselves to further alter its physical footprint to develop a new Grand Central Tourbillon with the same powerful performance and bold aesthetic as the original. At WPHH 2022, Franck Muller presents a new variant of the Grand Central Tourbillon in a 36mm Cintrée Curvex CX case for women and men.
The Grand Central Tourbillon Cintrée Curvex CX 36 is available in eight models, including three diamond-set and five non-stone models.
They feature the self-winding FM CX 36T-CTR, powered by a sunburst-brushed off-centre gold micro-rotor that provides a 4-day power reserve, with the large central tourbillon running at 18,000 vph with ease.
New case and dial For nearly three decades, the recognizable Cintrée Curvex case has been synonymous with Franck Muller, capturing the hearts of watch fans and admirers. This year, the iconic Cintrée Curvex case has been redesigned.
The edgeless curved sapphire crystal extends completely from the display to the lugs for improved visibility. This is thanks to the new perfect technique of fixing the glass at the 12 and 6 o'clock positions, creating a larger display through which the Grand Central Tourbillon can now be admired. Additionally, the bezel of the Cintrée Curvex CX is separate from the case, allowing for a beautiful two-tone finish and accentuating the sensual curves of the watch.
The new Grand Central Tourbillon models feature an embossed guilloché dial with a different-coloured hobnail pattern. The Grand Central Tourbillon CX 36 is available in white gold, rose gold and carbon fiber cases, set with diamonds on the outer and inner rings; The zinc guilloché dial creates a sparkling alluring effect.
